Sept. 21, 2012 — The RCMS Vikings defeated Morgan County Sept. 13 by a score of 44-0 for its seventh win of season.

Ben Hutchinson started the game with a 60-yard kickoff return, followed with a competed two-point conversion to give Rowan an 8-0 lead.

After stopping a Morgan County drive to the Viking 40, Rowan scored on another long run, this time by way of Chad Hall, with 2:15 left in the first. Kelly Norris converted the two-point conversion.

In all, the RCMS Vikings scored six touchdowns and converted four two-point conversions.

Adding to the offense were catches by Braxton Ward, Nick Tiedeman and Matt Gagliano.  Chris Bolton led the defensive effort with a fumble recovery.

RCMS Seventh Grade Head Coach Terry Chin said his team has been consistent all season long.

“It’s been a very good year for us thus far and we hope to continue that as we head down the stretch,” Chin said. “Offensively, defensively and special teams, the boys have been solid in all facets of the game for the majority of the season.”

The Vikings next action will take place on Sept. 20 against the Bath County Wildcats in Owingsville, with kickoff set for 6 p.m.
