The Rowan County 4-H Sharp Shooters recently set their sights on the Morgan- Elliott Invitational.
In the BB Rifle 9-11 age group, Thomas Gibson took first, Feby Riddle took second and Gibson had the overall high.
Logan Blevins took third in the 22 Sport Rifle 12-14 age group.
In the Black Powder Percussion Rifle 9-11 age group, Feby Riddle took second.
Ally Bowman took first in the Black Powder Percussion 15-18 age group and Will Quesinberry took second.
In the Black Powder Percussion Flintlock Rifle 15-18, Will Quesinberry took first place and had the overall high score.
Becca Carter took third in the Air Pistol 9-11 age group.
Cannon Vice took second in the 22 Pistol 13-14 age group.
We would like to congratulate the Rowan County 4-H Sharp Shooters on a wonderful, successful year of shooting! They have all prevailed this year and will be competing in the State Competition Sept. 18 that will take place in Wilmore and Richmond.

Rowan County celebrated its seniors with a girls/boys doubleheader against Fleming County on Monday night. The Lady Vikings were up first, as they held on for the win despite a late comeback effort by the Lady Panthers, winning 65-58.

It is every high school athlete's dream to play at the next level. For Viking senior kicker Rhett Hughes, this was a dream that came true as he signed on Thursday afternoon to handle field goal and kickoff duties for Georgetown College.
