September 7, 2010 —
The Bluegrass Stallions are returning for a second year while bringing professional basketball to the Georgetown community! The Stallions will play their games this season at Georgetown College’s Alumni Gym starting in January. The Stallions will no longer be playing in the ABA but rather competing in the PBL, which displays a higher level of basketball talent. In the ABA, the Stallions reached the Eastern conference finals last season. Last year’s team featured local players from Georgetown College, EKU as well as UK. The Stallions will be holding open tryouts on Sunday, September 12 from 1-5pm at the Reid Davis Alumni Gym on the Georgetown College campus. Registration is $100 per participant. For those wanting to pre-register go to www.bluegrassstallions.com, print off the registration form and mail it to 143 E. Main Street, Georgetown, KY 40324. Those who pre register will only be required to pay $75. The Stallions will be lead this season by head coach and former UK Wildcat Jay Shidler who served as Kyle Macy’s assistant last season. With a new venue, strong community support and and an exciting team, we feel this season will offer a great form of entertainment to central Kentucky.
