Oct. 3, 2012 — Morehead State University, Rowan County Schools and the Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence will host two free “Parent Leadership 101” workshops on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 5 and 6, and Friday and Saturday, Nov. 16 and 17, in Morehead.
The workshops will be held on Friday from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. and on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. in 301 Ginger Hall. Free parking will be available behind the Camden-Carroll Library and free childcare also will be available, if contact is made prior to the event.
The Prichard Committee develops skilled parent leaders who partner with schools to improve student achievement. It provides research based curriculum, two trainers with extensive experience, and handouts and materials for each attending.
Participants will leave the training with an understanding of school and district data, new common core standards, school improvement planning and more, with a focus on improved student success.
Refreshments and meals are provided. Space is limited.
