Aug. 1, 2012 — While cheerleading may not be an official sport yet, a group of U.S. cheerleaders is heading to London to cheer for the Men’s Basketball Semifinal and Finals.
One of those cheerleaders is Morehead State's Ronnie Patrick, II of Huntington, W.Va. Ronnie is the grandson of Ron and Ann Patrick, formerly of the Lenore area. They now reside in Barboursville.

Morehead State University professor emeritus Jay Flippin will be honored Saturday, May 18, and Sunday, May 19, as the Lexington Singers will present “A Broadway Celebration Salute to Jay Flippin.”
Officials at Kentucky’s public and independent colleges and universities estimate that they have conferred 61,472 degrees and credentials during the 2012‐13 academic year, with historic levels continuing at the associate, baccalaureate, master’s and professional practice doctoral levels.
Morehead State University alumni and friends have been challenged. An anonymous donor has pledged $20,000 if 500 gifts are received on Thursday, May 16.
Registration is underway for the 26th Annual Academically Proficient High School Junior and Senior Diversity Conference on the campus of Eastern Kentucky University, June 28-29.
Morehead State University will hold its 2013 Spring Commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 11, at the Academic-Athletic Center.
