The postmarked deadline for submissions is Friday, April 1.

The inclusive exhibition was conceived as a means to represent current textile art practice in Kentucky.

While the exhibition is sponsored in part by SDA, organization membership is not necessary for submit ion and all artists creating work of fiber materials and/or techniques are invited to submit for consideration.

The show will be curated by Jennifer Reis, gallery director, textile artist, and co-representative for the Kentucky SDA Chapter. Every effort to be inclusive and exhibit a diverse range of work will be taken considering the limitations of the space (2,500 square feet) and cohesion of the exhibition as a whole. The artwork will be insured during the exhibition.

There will be an opening reception on Saturday, June 4, from 3-5 p.m. in conjunction with the KY SDA Mini-Conference, and exhibiting artists are encouraged to participate in a gallery talk tentatively scheduled from 3:30-4:30 p.m. during the reception.

Artists are encouraged to send digital images representing up to five pieces (1 full, up to 2 details per artwork) electronically to j.reis@moreheadstate.edu.

This includes, but is not limited to, artwork consisting of weaving, knitting, quilting, felting, surface design on fabric, stitched material like paper or photographic images, and art to wear. Pieces must be able to be transported through a standard door; however, there is no limit on size per se. Artwork must not weigh more than 50 lbs.

Submissions need to be accompanied by the exhibition submission inventory sheet and a short artist statement/bio sent electronically as a Word doc file. Exhibition submission is free for SDA members. Non-members entry fee is $5 per piece. Mail entries to Jennifer Reis, 108 Claypool-Young Art Building, Morehead State University, Morehead, KY, 40351. Deadline is April 1. CDs and hard copies of information may be sent to that address, if one prefers not to submit electronically.
