Aug. 10, 2012 — Morehead State University’s East Kentucky Small Business Development Center (SBDC) in Paintsville will host “Basic Guide to Exporting for Your Small Business,” program Thursday, Aug. 30.
The workshop will be held in two sessions. The first slated from 2 - 4 p.m. while the second will be held from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at the Center, 224 Main Street.
The event is for business owners that have wondered if they have a product or service that could be exported to international markets. Current owners that would like to know more will be guided through the basics of exporting.
Information will be provided on exporting basics, how to identify markets for your products/services, financing available for exporting transactions, best methods for handling orders and shipments and more.
“Exporting can be a business growth strategy if you have the right product or service for the international market. Exporting can also increase competiveness of the businesses leading to job creation and vibrant growing of economies in our region,” said Michelle Spriggs, SBDC consultant. “This is an excellent and affordable opportunity for individuals to learn about exporting and how the SBDC can assist them in developing a growth plan for exporting.”
The workshop is free for all participants; however, seating is limited and advance registration is recommended.
Training programs, sponsored or co-sponsored by SBDC, are available to all individuals without regard to race, color, sex, creed or national origin. Special arrangements will be made for those with disabilities if requested in advance.
