Patrick named CFO and VP for administration

Oct. 24, 2012 — Morehead State University President Wayne D. Andrews announced today (Tuesday) that Beth G. Patrick has been named MSU’s chief financial officer and vice president for administration.

Patrick was selected after a national search.

She currently serves as assistant vice president of financial operations at the University of Kentucky. She will take office on Nov. 19. Patrick succeeds Michael R. Walters, who announced his retirement earlier this year. Walters served in various positions since joining the University staff in 1978.

“Beth Patrick is the right person to serve as MSU’s chief financial officer and vice president for administration based on her more than 30 years of significant experience at Morehead State University and the University of Kentucky,” said Dr. Andrews.

Patrick’s duties will include being responsible for the areas of accounting and financial services, budgets, human resources and payroll, general counsel, information technology, internal audits, facilities management, support services, and auxiliary services, which is comprised of the bookstore, concessions and vending, EagleCard office, food services, Eagle Trace Golf Course, post office, risk management and environmental health and safety.

“I am very excited about the opportunity to return to my alma mater as the chief financial officer and vice president for administration,” said Patrick. “The past year at the University of Kentucky has been an outstanding opportunity, and I am grateful for the experience that I have gained. It feels great to be coming back to my home university.

“I look forward to working again as a member of President Andrews’ leadership team.”

A Russell native, Patrick earned a bachelor’s degree with an option in data processing in 1982 and a master’s degree in adult and higher education in 1997, both from MSU.
