'Family Portraits' opens Sept. 12

Sept. 7, 2012 — The main gallery of Morehead State University's Claypool-Young Art Building will present "Family Portraits: Works by Stafford Smith, Nicole McCormick Santiago, Leslie Shiels and Dale Inglett."

The exhibition which features contemporary photography, painting, mixed media and electronic media, all revolving around the theme of relationships, closes on Friday, Oct. 12.

An opening reception will be held Wednesday, Sept. 12, from 5 – 7 p.m.

Santiago will be one of the visiting artists associated with the exhibition. Her lectures are scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 11, from 10:20 – 11:20 a.m. and 12:40 – 1:40 p.m. in 111 Claypool-Young Art Building and are free and open to the public.

The gallery in Claypool-Young features contemporary art for the MSU community as well as the University’s service region. The gallery is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. or by appointment. There is no charge for viewing and the public is invited. Parking is available on Main Street during the day, and on the MSU campus after 5 p.m. weekdays, and all day on weekends.
