July 11, 2012 — In keeping with the mission to empower women in agriculture through education, involvement, and action, the Kentucky Women in Agriculture Inc. organization has chosen Amy J. Staton as this year’s scholarship recipient.
Staton is a member of the first Ed. D. cohort at MSU with an expected graduation date of May 2013. She is a staff technologist/instructor in the MSU Veterinary Technology Program with a focus on animal husbandry, radiology and surgical nursing.
In observance of the Memorial Day holiday, Morehead State University will be closed Monday, May 27. There will be no classes or office hours and mail will not be delivered.
Just in time for summer, Morehead State Public Radio (MSPR) will give away five 2013 Kentucky Golf Tour Books.
Regina French, an adult education instructor in Bath County, was presented the Appalachian Leaders in Education (AppLE) Award by Forward in the Fifth.
Morehead State University alumni and friends rose to the challenge Thursday, May 16.
Morehead State University professor emeritus Jay Flippin will be honored Saturday, May 18, and Sunday, May 19, as the Lexington Singers will present “A Broadway Celebration Salute to Jay Flippin.”
Officials at Kentucky’s public and independent colleges and universities estimate that they have conferred 61,472 degrees and credentials during the 2012‐13 academic year, with historic levels continuing at the associate, baccalaureate, master’s and professional practice doctoral levels.
