Iris (Hutchinson) Barham
1926-2010


MOREHEAD – Iris (Hutchinson) Barham, 83, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2010 in the Grandview Hospital, Dayton after several years of failing health.

She was born August 31, 1926 in Crockett, Kentucky, the daughter of Roy and Anna (Ferguson) Hutchinson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles Douglas (Chuck) Barham, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Luna (Tony) Zinkiewicz, Mary (Murvel) Fisher and Tommy Brown, a niece, Bertina Hollis and a nephew, Gale Ferguson.

Iris is survived by a very devoted companion and caregiver, Bill Chadwell, two sisters, Edith (Donald) Stratton of Alexandria, VA and Juanita Brown of Melbourne, FL, step-son, Dale Barham and step-granddaughter, Alyssa of Dayton, eight nieces and nephews, Leroy (Andrea) Ferguson and Paul D. Ferguson both of Morehead, Randy (Mary) Fisher of Atlanta, TX, Donna (Bruce) Kendall of Alexandria, VA, Kim (Richard) Hodge of Fairfax Station, VA, Tommy J. (Nancy) Brown of Manchester, MI, Ronny (Patty) Fisher of Fairborn, OH and Debbie (Mark) Stewart of Indialantic, FL, step-nephew, Sonny (Clara) Conn of Morehead, great-nieces and great-nephews, Susan Thompson, Kim Burry, Gary Ferguson, Stephanie Ferguson, Suzann Hollis, Jimmy Hollis, Dawn Naill, Christa Batz, Aaron Arnold, Loren Arnold, Colleen Brown, Michael Brown, David Fisher, Jennifer Fisher, Josh Fisher, Kierra Fisher, DeMar Fisher, Amy Riordan and J. T. Stewart, step-grand-nephews, Nathan Hodge, Grant Hodge and Matt Hodge, great-great nieces and nephews, Ethan Fisher, McKayla and Ryan Naill, Tabetha and Billy Dakato, Jefferson Thompson, Samantha and Lee Burry, Leland Ferguson, Jackson and Carter Batz, other relatives and many friends.

Iris was a former school teacher in Rowan County, Kentucky and a telephone operator retiring after 26 years of service. She was a life member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #9936, Dayton, Pioneers of America, Dayton and OES #227 Morehead, KY.

Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 30, 2010 in the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home. Dr. Jack Ellis and Ronny Fisher officiating. Burial in Brown Cemetery. Friends may call from noon until time of service.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Sharon Kay McBrayer Charles
1964-2010


MOREHEAD – Sharon Kay McBrayer Charles, age 46, of Rose Road, Clearfield, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2010, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, Kentucky.

Born January 27, 1964, in Rowan County, Kentucky, she is the daughter of Tilman (Tim) McBrayer and his wife Eleanor of Enola, Pennsylvania, and Karen Bauer McBrayer of Vero Beach, Florida.

Sharon is also survived by her husband, Jeffery Charles, whom she married April 18, 1981; two daughters, Jessica Sholars and Rebecca Charles of Morehead, Kentucky; one son-in-law, Randy Sholars of Morehead, Kentucky; one brother, Mark McBrayer, of Morehead, Kentucky; one sister, Patty McBrayer of Vero Beach, Florida; paternal grandfather, Bert McBrayer of Bozeman, Montana; maternal grandmother, Paula Bauer of Seattle, Washington; one grandson, Caleb Sholars; one granddaughter, Kylie Sholars; and two nephews, Robert Collins and Mark Anthony McBrayer.

Also surviving are mother-in-law, Janet Hinton; father-in-law, Winford Charles and his wife Carol; three brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Teresa McBrayer; paternal grandmother, Alta McBrayer; and maternal grandfather, Ed Bauer.

Sharon was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was also a paper carrier for USA Today.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, January 30, 2010, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Don Rivers and Brother Rex Sagraves officiating. Burial will follow in the McBrayer Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Randy Sholars, Robert Collins, Mark Anthony McBrayer, Joe Charles, Mike Charles, and Joey Collins.

Visitation is after 5 p.m. Friday, January 29, 2010, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
