Jerry Helphinstine
1941-2010


HILLSBORO – Jerry Helphinstine, age 68, of Mooresville, Indiana, formerly of Hillsboro, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2010, at his residence.

He was born July 14, 1941, in Hillsboro, Kentucky, son of the late Floyd and Dorothy Fogleman Helphinstine. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Joy.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Hazel Baker Helphinstine, to whom he was united in marriage December 21, 1963; son, Jerry “Cowboy” Helphinstine, Jr., of Mooresville; daughter, Karyn Lawrence and husband Dale of Mooresville, Indiana; sister, Jo Ann Willeroy of Morehead, Kentucky; and two grandsons, Joshua and Jesse Lawrence.

Mr. Helphinstine worked for Amtrak as a carman for 35 years, retiring in 2000. He enjoyed camping, fishing, model airplanes, and spending time with his family.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, February 5, 2010, at the Hutton Funeral Home with Brother Gerald Saunders officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery.

Visitation is from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, February 4, 2010, at the Hutton Funeral Home, 7634 Hillsboro Road, Hillsboro, Kentucky.

Rev. J. F. (June) Hunt
1948-2010


MOREHEAD - Rev. J. F. (June) Hunt, age 61, of Mt. Pleasant Road, Owingsville, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2010, at St. Joseph Hospital in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky.

Born April 20, 1948, in Irvine, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Ben F. Hunt, Jr. and Edna Adams Hunt.

June is survived by his wife, Toni G. Bailey Hunt, whom he wed June 30, 1972; one daughter, Loralyn Courtney and her husband Gene of Owingsville, Kentucky; one sister, Robbin Durbin and her husband Larry of Irvine, Kentucky; three half-brothers, Roy Grimes and Ray Bradley of Winchester, Kentucky, and Don Bradley of Stanton, Kentucky.

Also surviving are several nieces and nephews including two special nieces, Terra and Tanya Durbin.

June was an employee of Square D for 16 years, retired from Donatech after 10 years of service, and enjoyed gardening and raising Charolais cattle.

A minister for more than 38 years, June was ordained in 1978 at the First Church of God in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. He was the pastor of several churches including Moore’s Creek First Church of God in Stanton, Polksville First Church of God and Preston First Church of God, both in Bath County and Jackson First Church of God in Breathitt County.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2010, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Lowell C. Rice officiating. Burial will follow in the Longview Cemetery at Bethel, Kentucky.

Pallbearers: Tony Durbin, Gary Buckler, Alvin Howard Buckler, Randy Reed, Jeffrey Harmon and Albert Harmon.

Honorary Pallbearers: C. J. Reed, Travis Reed, Matt Dillon, Brandon Dillon, Jamie Otis, Aaron Harmon, and Andrew Harmon.

Visitation is after 5 p.m. Monday, February 1, 2010, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, Morehead, Kentucky.
