Shirley Razor Binion
1937-2009
MOREHEAD – Shirley Razor Binion, 71, of U.S. 60 West passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2009 in the St. Claire Regional Medical Center.
She was born on November 30, 1937 in New Castle, Indiana, a daughter of the late Claude S. and Alma Highley Razor.
Mrs. Binion was retired clerk having worked at Battson Drug and Rite Aid. She was a member of the Mud Lick First Church of God and enjoyed reading, going to church and Southern Gospel Music.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Binion who passed away on March 28, 1997 and one sister, Sharon Sue Razor James.
Survivors include two aunts, Louise Razor of Hillsboro and Odie Razor of Mooreland, Indiana, two uncles, John Paul Highley and Robert E. Highley both of Salt Lick, two step-children, Greg Binion of Salt Lick and Debbie Bates of Salvisa and several cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 25, 2009 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Slaty Point Cemetery. Visitation is after 6:00 P.M. Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Vincent, Jordan Snedegar, Jacob Snedegar, Greg Binion, Bernard McGuire, Jay Brown, Eddie Sluss and Willie Hankinson.

Boyd "Nick" Reed Sr.
1928-2009
FLEMINGSBURG – Boyd “Nick” Reed Sr., 80, of the Goddard Community, passed away Saturday, Feb. 21 at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.
He was president of Grant County Steel, Marion, Ind.
He was born in Bath County on June 19, 1928 to the late Boone Reed and Ida Bailey Hawkins. His wife preceded him in death in 2006; grandchildren Boyd L. Adkins and Carrie Jane Parker; and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy Caldwell of Marion, Ind., and Jane and Roger Adkins of Flemingsburg; one son, Boyd and Anita Reed Jr. of Marion, Ind.; four sisters, Mildred Stevens of Fairbanks, Ohio, Elizabeth Wilson of Lawes, Fla., Emma Gaddis of Harrodsburg and Louise Hockensmith of Frankfort; 13 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25 at the Wallingford Methodist Church where Mr. Reed was a member. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Park, Flemingsburg.
Visitation is after 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Boone-Nickell Funeral Home.
