Dakota Justin Allen Hall
2008-2009


MOREHEAD – Dakota Justin Allen Hall, two- month-old son of Cassandra Hall of Jeffersonville, Kentucky, and Terry Lynn Curtis, Jr. of Bath County, Kentucky, was born December 31, 2008, in Clark County, Kentucky, and passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2009.

In addition to his parents, Dakota is survived by maternal grandparents, Josh Allen Anderson and Renita Anderson of Jeffersonville, Kentucky, and paternal grandmother Tina Black of Morehead, Kentucky.

Graveside service will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, February 27, 2009, at Black Cemetery with the Rev. Ray Glover officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday, February 27, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.

Ruby Janet Stitt Hurst
1932-2009


HILLSBORO – Ruby Janet Stitt Hurst, age 76, of Hillsboro, Kentucky, went to meet her Lord Tuesday, February 24, 2009, at the Robertson County Health Care Facility in Mt. Olivet, Kentucky.

Born July 11, 1932, in Robertson County, Kentucky, she was the youngest child of William Hildreth and Lucy Etna Hitt Stitt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Alta Joyce Hurst; one brother, Buck Stitt; and six sisters, Glen Duebel, Thelma Gallagher, Audrey Fulton, Marcella Huddleston, Deloris Purcell, and Margaret Ellison.

Mrs. Hurst’s husband of 47 years, Oscar Hurst, passed away October 25, 1998. Together they farmed near Ringos Mill and raised seven children. She also supported his efforts as a rural mail carrier out of the Hillsboro post office. She attended Lower Rock Lick Enterprise Baptist Church.

Mrs. Hurst was the proudest of having given birth to two sets of twins, all of whom survive: Ruth (Chris) Nelson of Crab Orchard, Kentucky, and Ron (Tonia) Hurst of Berea, Kentucky, and Janice (Richard) Hornback of Lexington, Kentucky, and Debbie (Doug) Prather of Morehead, Kentucky.

Other surviving children are daughters, Rebecca (Gary) Flottman of Hillsboro, Ohio, and Connie Fraley of Waynesville, Ohio, as well as 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

In addition, one brother, Paul Stitt of Mayslick, Kentucky, and two sisters, Ida Dotson of Mt. Olivet, Kentucky, and Verna May of Maysville, Kentucky, also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, February 28, 2009, at Hutton Funeral Home with the Brother Jim Porter and Brother Willie Skaggs, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Hillsboro Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Shane, Todd, and Alan Hornback, Jarrod Prather, Daniel Hurst, and Jerry Fraley.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 27, 2009, at the Hutton Funeral Home, Hillsboro, Kentucky.

Davis William Kidd Jr.
1942-2009


MOREHEAD – Davis William Kidd, Jr., 66, of Oak Grove Road, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at his home.

He was born on April 26, 1942 in Rowan County, Kentucky, a son of the late Davis and Myrtle Mae Lambert Kidd.

Mr. Kidd was a logger and sawmill operator. He was a United States Army Veteran and a member of the New Home Christian Church. Mr. Kidd had been a member of church for over 40 years and had served as pastor of several churches including Rock Fork Christian Church, Kegley Ridge Christian Church, New Home Christian Church and BrushHart Christian Church. He enjoyed working and going to church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Emmitt W. Kidd and Arthur Ray Kidd and one sister, Verna Kidd.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Patricia Royse Kidd, whom he married on June 25, 1960, of Morehead, three sons, Donald Ray Kidd, Tim Kidd and his wife, Leisa and Chris Kidd and his wife, Stephanie all of Morehead, one daughter, Nan Ramsey and her husband, Grady of Olive Hill, nine sisters, Gertrude Gilbert, Edna Ruth Walker, Elizabeth Trent, Kay Williams and Linda Kimsey all of Morehead, Christine Jennings of Clearfield, Lois Anglin of Grayson, Reba High of Mt. Sterling and Sue Fugate of Frankfort, eight grandchildren, Matthew Lewis, Josh Kidd, Kevin Kidd, Jennifer Kidd, Tandi Lewis, Tyler Kidd, Gabriel Kidd and Zachary Kidd, four great-grandchildren, Nathan Lewis, Ashley Lewis, Caden Osborne and Ethan Osborne and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, February 28, 2009 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Hamm, Rev. Herbert D. Lewis and Rev. Eddie Rice officiating. Burial will follow in the Trent Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted at the graveside by the Morehead American Legion Post No. 126. Visitation is after 5:00 P.M. Thursday and anytime Friday.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Kidd, Josh Kidd, Tyler Kidd, Matt Lewis, Clyde Royse and Dana Kidd and honorary pallbearers will be Gabriel Kidd, Zachary Kidd, Caden Osborne, Ethan Osborne and Nathan Lewis.
