Andrew Walter “Andy” Ayers
1969-2009
MOREHEAD - Andrew Walter “Andy” Ayers, age 39, of Bath County, Kentucky, passed away Monday, March 30, 2009, at his residence.
He was born May 1, 1969, in Columbus, Ohio, and is the son of Joann Gordon Ayers of Sun Lakes, Arizona, and the late Myron T. Ayers.
Besides his mother, Andy is survived by his wife, Michele Hauser Ayers; two brothers, Craig Ayers of Orlando, Florida, and Kurt Ayers of Columbus, Ohio; three nieces and nephews, Ben Ayers, Skylar Burke-Ayers and Aurora Burke-Ayers; several aunts, uncles, cousins, other family and many friends.
Andy was a 1987 graduate of Revere High School in Richfield, Ohio, and received a B. S. Degree in Chemical Engineering from Arizona State University in 1995. He was a self-employed chemical engineer with Ayers Environmental Consulting in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, and a former employee of Guardian Industries in Morehead, Kentucky, and Motorola in Tempe, Arizona.
Andy was a very active member of the Owingsville Fire Department and served as a lieutenant with the Bath County Rescue Squad. He loved animals, classic cars, and helping people.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Paul Prabell officiating.
Visitation is after 6 p.m. Friday, April 3, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, Morehead, Kentucky.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Owingsville Fire Department, 19 Goodpaster Avenue, Owingsville, KY 40360.

Marie Cundiff Blundell
1940-2009
MOREHEAD – Marie Cundiff Blundell, 69, of 410 Williams Branch passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at her home.
She was born on February 5, 1940 in Haldeman, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Ruie Pigman Christian.
Mrs. Blundell was a retired private home caregiver. She was a member of the Grace Assembly of God and enjoyed gardening, flowers, bird watching and walking.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Owen Blundell, who passed away on December 21, 2004, one brother, Everett Clark, one sister, Vivian Ison and one great-granddaughter, Emma Manning.
Survivors include four sons, Timmy Blundell and his wife, Audrey of New Lebanon, Ohio, Allen Blundell and his wife, Kim of Trenton, Ohio, Troy Blundell and his wife, Patty of Paris and Shane Blundell and his wife, Shawna of Morehead, two daughters, Kim Kidd and her fiancé, Tim Overbey and Mary Sloan and her husband, Dale all of Morehead, one brother, Jimmy Dyer of Dayton, Ohio, two sisters, Lillian Crisp of Elliottville and Betty Rinker of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, fifteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 4, 2009 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Pastor Bill McCoy officiating. Burial will follow in the Blundell Family Cemetery. Visitation is after 6:00 P.M. Friday.
Pallbearers will be Raymond Waddell, Dale Sloan, Timmy Overbey, Ronnie Crisp, Timmy Blundell, James Dyer and Wes Sands.

Delores Ann McKenzie Conn
1933-2009
MOREHEAD – Delores Ann McKenzie Conn, age 76, of South Mill Branch, Clearfield, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, April 2, 2009, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, Kentucky.
She was born January 11, 1933, in Rowan County, Kentucky and was the daughter of the late John Holly McKenzie and Flora Estell Jones McKenzie. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Avis Johnson, and four brothers, Charles, Earl, John, and Larry McKenzie. Also, a grandson, James Brent Conn, passed away October 5, 2007.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Roy Miller Conn, whom she married May 24, 1952; one daughter, Janis Ann Brown and husband Russell Len of Morehead, Kentucky; two sons, Michael R. Conn and wife Brenda of Farmers, Kentucky, and James Kent Conn of Fredonia, Kentucky; nine grandchildren, Jonathan Brown, Derek Brown, Joshua Brown, Holly Ann Brown, Roy Michael Conn, Bobi Conn, Daniel Conn, Jennifer Conn, and Tiffany Casey; and ten great grandchildren, Kaila Casey, Ashley Casey, Aidan Barker, Breanna Conn, Aubrey Smith, Amalee Conn, Cobi Conn, Marion Sage Conn, Braydon Conn, and Whitt Brown.
Also surviving are four brothers, Rev. Guy McKenzie of Salt Lick, Kentucky, Paul Edward McKenzie of Morehead, Kentucky, Douglas McKenzie of Salt Lick, Kentucky and Rodney “Red” McKenzie of Anderson, Indiana; and a half-sister, Brenda Davis of Tipp City, Ohio.
Mrs. Conn was a homemaker and member of the First Church of God.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, April 5, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Allan Hutchinson and the Rev. Mike Pennington officiating. Burial will follow in the New Alfrey Cemtery.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Brown, Derek Brown, Joshua Brown, Billy C. Evans, Darrell McKenzie, Daniel Conn, and Joe McKenzie.

Elsie L. Quesinberry Early
1923-2009
MOREHEAD – Elsie L. Quesinberry Early, age 85, of Hill-N-Dale, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at St. Joseph Hospital in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky.
Born October 4, 1923, in Conasauga, Tennessee, Elsie was one of nine children of the late George Washington and Josephine “Josie” Perkins Quesinberry. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 31 years, Ralph Garland Early, on March 5, 1972.
Survivors include two sons, Garland Earley and wife Roberta and Roger Carl Early and wife Karen, all of Morehead, Kentucky, and three daughters, Kay Early of Morehead, Kentucky, Connie Hall of Louisville, Kentucky, and Alice Kaplan and husband Alan of Nicholasville, Kentucky.
Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, Michelle Earley Patrick, Dana Earley Gillespie, Larry Early, Kristi Early Wilson, David Jones, Debbie Jones Shay, Amy Hall, Jason Hall, Jenny Kaplan and Daniel Kaplan, and 14 great grandchildren, Beth and Gabe Richmond, Chloe Patrick, Baleigh and Allie Gillespie, Alex and Macy Early, Starla and Preston Wilson, Colt Jones, Casey and Sarah Shay, Courtney and Gavin Hall.
Mrs. Early was a former sales clerk at Goldie’s Department Store, Outlet Shoe Store and Furniture World. She was also an employee of the Greyhound Bus Station and later in life became a caregiver. A devout Christian and lifelong member of the First Free Will Baptist Church, Mrs. Early sang in the choir and taught Sunday School for many years.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, April 3, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. David Starcher officiating. Burial will follow in Clearfield Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be David Jones, Jason Hall, Daniel Kaplan, Larry Early, Gabe Richmond, and Junior Wilson.
Visitation is after 5 p.m. Thursday, April 2, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.

Louie Emmett “Gene” Meade
1934-2009
OWINGSVILLE - Louie Emmett “Gene” Meade, age 74, of Old Sands Road, Owingsville, Kentucky, passed away Monday, March 30, 2009, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky.
He was born December 31, 1934, in Carter County, Kentucky, and was the son of the late James “Jim” and Hattie Greenhill Meade. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Anthony Meade; two brothers, Joe Walter Meade and Lloyd Meade, Jr.; and one sister, Marie Branham.
Surviving are two sons, Henry Arthur Meade of Salt Lick, Kentucky, and James Ottist Meade of Owingsville, Kentucky; one daughter, Audrey Brown of Salt Lick, Kentucky; the mother of his children, Carolyn James Meade; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Also surviving are one brother, Norman Meade of Ashland, Kentucky; three sisters, Irene Bush of Grayson, Kentucky, Pauline Holbrook of Grahn, Kentucky, and Bethalene Minix of Olive Hill, Kentucky; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Mr. Meade was a former employee of Homer Gregory Lumber Company.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Rev. Randall Jackson and Rev. David Adams officiating. Burial was in the Greenhill and Jarvis Cemetery in Carter County, Kentucky.
Pallbearers were Anthony Lee Meade, David Eugene Meade, Derick McGlothin, Erick Meade, Henry Arthur Meade, and David Roar.
Visitation was Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, Morehead, Kentucky.
