Gloria (Jeanie) Davis Johnston
1946-2009


MOREHEAD - Gloria (Jeanie) Davis Johnston, age 62, of Shenkel Lane, Frankfort, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2009, at her residence.

Born December 30, 1946, in Carter County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Harlan Luther and Clara Lee Brewster Davis. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Ima Jean and Ernestine Davis and Opal Easton; two brothers, Harold and Hubert Davis; and one son, Marion Luther Lewis.

She is survived by three sons, Darrell Wayne Lewis and his wife Faye, Mark Lewis, and Timothy Lewis, all of Frankfort, Kentucky; four daughters, Lora Smith and husband Donald, Anna Smith, Juanita Crouch and husband Pete, and Tammy Bailey, all of Frankfort, Kentucky; 19 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

Also surviving are four brothers and their wives, Bobby and Mary Davis and Logan and Betty Davis of Morehead, Kentucky, Tommy and Zella Davis of Olive Hill, Kentucky, Harlen and Barb Davis of Sandy Hook, Kentucky; one sister and her husband, Marie and David Whitt of Morehead, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.

Jeanie was a Christian for many years. Her life revolved around family and church and she will be greatly missed by all.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Lonnie Conn, Brother Wade Hughes, and Brother Bobby Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Manning Chapel Cemetery in Carter County.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation is after 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.

Alma Aurora Johnson Robertson
1921-2009


MOREHEAD – Alma Aurora Johnson Robertson, 87, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2009, at Windsor Care in Mt. Sterling, KY.

Born December 8, 1921, in New Haven, CT, she traveled widely with her husband until his retirement from the military. She was employed at Independent Gravel and was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Joplin, MO, for many years, and later of Grace Lutheran Church in Winchester, KY.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Robert Cedric Robertson, and two sisters, Lillian Olsen of West Haven, CT, and Elizabeth Levin of Overton, TX.

Mrs. Robertson is survived by a son, James E. Robertson and his wife Kathleen, of St. Louis, MO; a daughter, Sarah R. Morrison and her husband Ronald of Morehead, KY; three grandchildren, Gwen Jankowski and her husband Ben, of Stillwater, OK, Victoria Robertson of Tucson, AZ, and Robert Leavitt Morrison of Morehead, KY.

Private graveside services will be held at Sardis Cemetery. Arrangements are with Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
