Sylvester Conley, Sr.
1922-2008


MOREHEAD – Sylvester Conley, Sr., age 86, passed away Saturday, November 15, 2008, at Cave Run Manor in Morehead.

He was born March 5, 1922, at Eadston in Rowan County, Kentucky, and was the son of the late Wiley Jefferson Conley and Amanda Alice Williams Conley. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by seven siblings, William, Russell, Clyde, Mary, Pearl, Betty, and Velda, and his wives, Beatrice Denita Conley and Alice Juanita Hicks-Conley.

Mr. Conley is survived by his children, Aeleigh Janet (Conley) Rothwell and husband Kenneth of Stantonville, Tennessee; Sylvester Conley, Jr., and wife Debra of La Center, Washington; Larry Talmadge Conley and wife Karen of Green Valley, Arizona; and Pamela Christine (Conley) McFarland and husband Wayne of Garrison, Kentucky.

Other survivors include 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Mr. Conley was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served in the Pacific Theater during World War II, and was a proud Mason for 50 years.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 18, 2008, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Lloyd Dean officiating. Morehead American Legion Post No. 126 will present the flag.

Mr. Conley will be buried in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Titusville, Florida.

Visitation for Mr. Conley is from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, November 17, 2008, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. A Masonic service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. by Morehead Masonic Lodge No. 654.

James Roger Winkleman
1957-2008


MOREHEAD – James Roger Winkleman, age 51, of Flemingsburg Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2008, at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

Born February 26, 1957, in Rowan County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Roy J. and Nannie Faye Waddell Winkleman. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Glennis Ray Winkleman.

Jim is survived by his wife, Beverly Alderman Winkleman; one daughter, Mica Hall and husband Chuck; and two grandchildren, Abbey Hall and Jamie Hall, all of Morehead, Kentucky.

Other survivors include three brothers, Carl Wayne (Brenda) Winkleman, Billy Joe (Trina) Winkleman, and Charles Roy (Tammy) Winkleman, all of Morehead, Kentucky; one sister, Brenda Sue (Terry) Wallace of Morehead, Kentucky, and 10 nieces and nephews.

He was the owner of Jim Winkleman’s Heating and Cooling, a member of Morehead Masonic Lodge No. 654 and El Hasa Shriners, Ashland, Kentucky, an avid golfer, and special buddy to his canine friend Otto. Jim especially enjoyed being known as the “Best Papaw in the World.”

Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 19, 2008, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Herbie Lewis and the Rev. Gary McQuain officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers: Gary Ferguson, Mark Porter, Rod Lowe, Mark Owens, Barry Cox, Ray Stafford, Cody Jolley, and Roger Fouch.

Visitation for Jim Winkleman is after 3 p.m. Tuesday, November 18, 2008, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. Masonic services will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. by Morehead Masonic Lodge No. 654.
