Wallace Doris Brown
1923-2008
MOREHEAD – Wallace Doris Brown, age 85, of Brown Ridge, Morehead, Kentucky, died Sunday, November 30, 2008, at the Ridgeway Manor Nursing Home in Owingsville.
He was born November 30, 1923, in Rowan County, Kentucky, and was the son of the late Thomas Presley Brown and Jessie Fraley Brown.
Mr. Brown is survived by two sons, Gary Brown of Poplar Grove, Illinois, and Larry Brown of Bloomington, Indiana; five grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Other survivors include two brothers, Seldon Brown and Orville Brown, both of Dunbar, West Virginia.
Mr. Brown was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and was employed by U.S. Steel in Gary, Indiana.
Graveside services will be conducted 3 p.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2008, at the Fannin-Brown Cemetery on Brown Ridge. Full military rites will be conducted by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126.
Visitation is after 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2008, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.

Lillian Marie Storer Burke
1929-2008
HILLSBORO – Lillian Marie Storer Burke, age 79, of Russellville, Ohio, formerly of Hillsboro, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2008, at the Hospice of Cincinnati.
She was born September 24, 1929, at Lawshe, Ohio, in Adams County and was the daughter of the late Francis Elvis Storer and Eva Lou Turner Storer. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Storer, and two grandsons, SSgt. John E. Cooper and Terrance M. Cooper.
Mrs. Burke is survived by her husband of 59 years, James Ray Burke, whom she married on February 18, 1949, and seven children and their spouses: Leah (Colin) Klump of Georgetown, Ohio; John (Connie) Burke of Cincinnati, Ohio; Janice (Roger) Botkin of Flemingsburg, KY; Michael (Denise) Burke of Manchester, OH; Jeffrey (Cynthia) Burke of Cincinnati, Ohio; Russell (Robin) Burke of Mayslick, KY; and Teresa (John) Gates of Ripley, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren.
Other survivors include four brothers: Berlin Storer and Floyd Storer, both of Peebles, Ohio; Robert Storer of Belfast, Ohio; and Phillip Storer of Jacksonville, Ohio; and three sisters: Virginia Balzhiser of Batavia, Ohio; Elizabeth Armstrong of Stanaway, Washington; and Joy Thatcher of West Union, Ohio.
Mrs. Burke was a homemaker and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of the Lower Rock Lick Enterprise Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, December 6, 2008, at the Hutton Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Skaggs officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Willie Skaggs, Junior Skaggs, Wendell McCarty, Jimmy Skaggs, J.C. Skaggs, and Jordan Skaggs.
Visitation is after 4 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2008, at the Hutton Funeral Home, 7634 Hillsboro Road, Hillsboro, KY 41049.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Lower Rock Lick Enterprise Baptist Church, 3302 Sunset Road, Hillsboro, KY 41049.
Ada Sloan Caudill
1913-2008
MOREHEAD – Ada Sloan Caudill, age 95, of Morehead, Kentucky, departed this life to be with our Lord on November 27, 2008, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. She was born on August 7, 1913, at Fitch, Kentucky, in Rowan County to the late Isaac Alvin and Josephine Evans Sloan. She was the eleventh of thirteen children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Stanley Caudill on June 3, 1972; one son, Jackie Denver Caudill, on September 27, 2005; and one daughter-in-law, Mary Kissick Caudill, on July 22, 2006. Six brothers and five sisters also preceded her in death.
Ada was a member of the Clearfield Tabernacle First Church of God where she sang in the choir and participated in the Women’s Group throughout her many years.
Survivors include one sister, Bessie Florence Stone of Morehead, Kentucky; one son, Gerald Edward Caudill of Farmers, Kentucky; three daughters, Barbara and husband Bill Horton of Morehead, Kentucky; Marcella and husband J.C. Jolley of Clearfield, Kentucky; Elsie and husband Ed Preston of Frankfort, Kentucky; and one daughter-in-law, Carole Caudill of Morehead, Kentucky.
Mrs. Caudill was affectionately known as “Mamaw” to six grandchildren: Lana Rahn of Morehead, Kentucky; Pete Caudill and his wife Schiffon of West Liberty, Kentucky; John Caudill of Atlanta, Georgia; Dana Lynch and her husband David of Cedar Park, Texas; Brian Caudill and fiancée Lisa Jones of Clearwater, Florida; Cheryl Whelchel and her husband John 2of Wilmore, Kentucky; and one step-grandson, J.C. Jolley Jr. of Morehead, Kentucky.
Great-grandchildren include Joshua Rahn, Eric Caudill, Sydney Caudill, Trevor Lynch, Cassidy Caudill, Zachary Whelchel, Hannah Whelchel, one step-great-grandson, Travis Jolley, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Caudill was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker. She was an excellent cook and an accomplished seamstress.
Over a span of 17 years, “Mamaw Ada” lovingly cared for approximately 70 infants and toddlers in her home. These little ones were affectionately referred to as “Ada’s Babies”.
Funeral services were conducted 1 p.m. Monday, December 1, 2008, at the Clearfield Tabernacle First Church of God with the Rev. Gary McQuain and Rev. Joel League officiating. Burial was in the Caudill Cemetery in Morehead.
Active Pallbearers: John Caudill, Pete Caudill, Eric Caudill, Joshua Rahn, Zachary Whelchel, John Whelchel, Ted Sloan, Tim Sloan, and Perry Sloan.
Honorary Pallbearers: Bill Horton, J. C. Jolley, Ed Preston, Brian Caudill, and David Lynch.
Visitation for Mrs. Caudill was from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, November 30, 2008, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.

Michael Lee Herron
1969-2008
FLORIDA – Michael Lee Herron, 39, of Zephyrhills, Fla., passed away Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008.
He was born August 2, 1969 at New Castle, Ind. He was a crane operator and attended Zephyr Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Julia K. Herron of Zephyrhills; two daughters, Jessica Herron and Ashley Herron, both of Zephyrhills; his father, Mike Herron of Zephyrhills; his mother Carol Winford Charles of Clearfield; one grandchild, Irael Ramirez; one brother, Randy Herron of Zephyrhills; two sisters, Amy (Jonny) Meade of Clearfield and Lisa Herron of Zephyrhills; four stepbrothers, Jeff (Sharon) Charles of Clearfield, Mike Charles of Mt. Sterling, Joe Charles of Huntington, W.Va.; one stepsister, Donna K. (Mike) Patrick of Morehead; one niece, Alexa Herron, and one nephew, Logan Meade, both of Clearfield; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Michael enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Services were held Tuesday, Nov. 25 at Whitfield Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Herron officiating. Graveside services followed at Oakside Cemetery.
