Thomas Elwood Curtis
1958-2008
MOREHEAD – Thomas Elwood Curtis, age 50, of Rice Lane, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Friday, December 12, 2008, at the St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.
Born October 28, 1958, in Rowan County, Kentucky, he is the son of the late Elwood and Donna Cole Curtis. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Terry Curtis, on July 28, 2000.
Tommy is survived by one son, Matthew Curtis of Morehead, Kentucky; one brother, Stanley Curtis of Morehead, Kentucky; and three sisters, Patti Kidd and Connie Frazier, both of Morehead, Kentucky, and Susan Bragg of Sharpsburg, Kentucky.
Tommy was a former employee of Weaver Lumber Company.
Funeral services were conducted 1 p.m. Monday, December 15, 2008, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Robert Kidd officiating. Burial will follow in the Eldridge Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Dewayne McElhaney, Scott Frazier, Dennis Bragg, Brock Moore, Arvil Brown, and Kenny McClurg.
Visitation was after 6 p.m. Sunday, December 14, 2008, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.

Melissa Waltz Frazier
1968-2008
MOREHEAD – Melissa Waltz Frazier, age 40, of Nelson Blvd., Rome, Georgia, passed away Saturday morning, December 13, 2008, at the Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome, Georgia.
Melissa was born in Morehead, KY on June 3, 1968, and was the daughter of Luster V. Waltz, who died September 12, 1993, and Inez Clark Waltz, who died June 14, 2002.
Melissa was the wife of Tony Frazier for 20 years, and the mother of two children, daughter Morgan Frazier, age 15, and son Nicholas Frazier, age 11.
Survivors also include one sister, Brenda Waltz Anderson, and two brothers, Rick and Tony Waltz, all of Morehead KY.
Melissa was a graduate of Rowan County High School and attended Morehead State University. Melissa was member of the Baptist Church for over fifteen years and was a very active volunteer within the church. She also dedicated her time as a volunteer within the Corbin Independent school system and became a substitute teacher. Melissa possessed a unique talent for designing home interior items for family and friends. She was dearly loved by all her family and friends and will be sadly missed.
Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2008, at the First Church of God, 576 Sunset Lane, Morehead, KY, with a special service to be held at 7 p.m. by the Rev. Harley Sexton, Jr. A funeral will be held at the church 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2008, with the Rev. Darren Gaddis officiating. Burial will follow in the Cranston Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tony Frazier, Tony Waltz, Randy Frazier, Jason Waltz, Nicholas Frazier, and Rick Waltz.

Juanita Caudill Ginter
1943-2008
MOREHEAD – Juanita Caudill Ginter, 65, of Limestone Road, passed away Friday, December 12, 2008 in the St. Claire Regional Medical Center after an illness of several weeks.
She was born on April 25, 1943 in Rowan County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Alfred Caudill and Annie Conley Caudill Smith.
Mrs. Ginter was a former cashier for R. H. Hobbs and Christian Social Services. She was a member of the New Hope Community Church of God in Olive Hill, where she served as the church pianist and taught Sunday School. Juanita enjoyed singing and playing the piano and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Derwood Caudill and one sister, Shirley Ray Williams.
Survivors include her husband, Earl Ginter, whom she married on April 7, 1961, of Morehead, one son, Bryan Ginter and his wife, Renee and one daughter, Jana' Ginter Lyons and her husband, Barry all of Morehead, two brothers, Elwood Caudill of Morehead and Billy Caudill of Gainesville, Florida, four sisters, Bernice Profitt of Clearfield, Linda Ballard of Mt. Sterling, Faye Harper of Flemingsburg and Susie Caudill Law of Morehead, four grandchildren, Brooke Ginter Perry, Jaylon Alexis Lyons, Dalton Ginter and Dakota Ginter, one great-grandchild, Gerald Lee Perry III and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 16, 2008 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Pastor Rudy Reed and Pastor Roscoe Humbarger officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Ginter, John Wayne Ginter, J. R. Ginter, Wayne Brown, Donnie Caudill, David Davis, David Davis, Jr., John Ginter and David Ginter.

Norman “Cat” Noble
1940-2008
MOREHEAD – Norman “Cat” Noble, 68, of Elliottville passed away Thursday, December 11, 2008 in the St. Claire Regional Medical Center.
He was born on May 13, 1940 in Perry County, Kentucky, a son of the late Elbridge and Polly Ann Niece Noble.
Mr. Noble was a carpenter and roofer. He was of the Apostolic Faith, enjoyed gardening, bluegrass music, flowers and telling jokes and was an avid walker.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Granville Noble and four sisters, Nana Mae Noble, Eliza O’Neal, Allie Faye Froman and Reva Noble.
Survivors include his wife, Sheilah Nickell Noble of Elliottville, two daughters, Stacy Collins and Jennifer Sabon both of Morehead, one brother, Greenville Noble of Bruin, two sisters, Betty Sabon of Morehead and Ellen Dutka of Orleans, Michigan and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 14, 2008 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Brother Timothy Porter officiating. Burial was in the Fraley Cemetery at Elliottville.
Pallbearers were Alfred Sabon, Walter David Sabon, Daniel Dillon, Jason Dillon, Charles Shawn Dillon and Matthew Sabon.

James William “Bill” Sturgill
1929-2008
MOREHEAD – James William “Bill” Sturgill, age 79, of U.S. 60 East, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2008, at the Golden Living Center in Vanceburg, Kentucky.
He was born June 30, 1929, in Royal Oak, Michigan, son of the late Lawrence Peyton and Mae Conn Sturgill. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Armada Sturgill.
Survivors include his wife, Jessie Colegrove Sturgill; one daughter, Beverly Maxwell of Louisville, Kentucky; three stepdaughters, Diana Zak of Depew, New York, Debra Adams of Grayson, Kentucky, and Dawn Goodan of Mount Sterling, Kentucky; one stepson, Garry Colegrove of Nicholasville, Kentucky; and two sisters, Mabel Elks of Louisville, Kentucky, and Maudie Eldridge of Atlanta, Georgia.
Also surviving are 15 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Mr. Sturgill was a retired tool and die maker from Sargent & Greenleaf in Nicholasville, Kentucky. He was a member of the Morehead First Free Will Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, December 18, 2008, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. David Starcher officiating.
Pallbearers will be Brian Krug, Todd Krug, Nick Goodan, Josh Adams, Jody Adams, and Jack Knipp.
Visitation is after 5 p.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2008, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
