MOREHEAD – Jimmy Wesley Ball, age 57, of Rice Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Friday, October 2, 2009, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.
Born April 9, 1952, in Dayton, Ohio, he was the son of the late Oreacle and Dorothy Adkins Ball. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Diana Ball, and a half brother, Raymond Lynn Ball.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of 38 years, Debbie Allen Ball, whom he married May 27, 1971; two daughters, Jessica Ladipo and husband Folami of Los Alamos, New Mexico, and Jaclyn Ball of Morehead, Kentucky; and two grandchildren, Samuel Ball and Duncan Ladipo.
Other survivors include one brother, Danny Ball and his wife Darlene of Indiana; three half brothers, Oreacle Ball and Steven Ball of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, and Daniel Ball and his wife Donna of Salt Lick, Kentucky; and a half sister, Alisha Ball of Sandy Hook, Kentucky.
Jimmy served in the U.S. Army from 1978 to 1996.
Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, October 4, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. James Allen officiating. Burial was in Brown Cemetery with full military rites conducted by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126.
Pallbearers were Donald Ison, Adam Ison, Gregory Ball, Folami Ladipo, Troy Ball, Denny Skaggs, Jr., Roy Ball, and David Ball.
Visitation was Saturday, October 3, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
