Myrtle L. Ferguson Anglin
1920-2009
MOREHEAD – Myrtle L. Ferguson Anglin, age 89, formerly of Butler, Indiana, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2009, at her home in Morehead, Kentucky.
Born June 7, 1920, in West Liberty, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Kelly and Mary Music Ferguson. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Billy Ross, and two brothers, Billy and Arthur Ferguson. Her husband, James Anglin, whom she married December 12, 1970, passed away July 7, 1994.
Survivors include four daughters, Adalene Havens and Martha Skaggs of Morehead, Kentucky, Elizabeth Brewer of Miamisburg, Ohio, and Edith Vinson of Hazel Green, Alabama; four sons, Gary Ross of Butler, Indiana, Ray Ross of Auburn, Indiana, Charles Ross of Elkhart, Indiana, and John Ross of Eustis, Florida; 37 grandchildren; 89 great grandchildren; and 32 great-great grandchildren.
Myrtle retired from Universal Tool in Butler, Indiana.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 16, 2009, at H. E. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home in Butler, Indiana, with Pastor Larry Sexton officiating. Burial will follow in the Butler Cemetery. Visitation is from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 15, 2009, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.

Mary Joyce Burchett Gabbard
1921-2009
OLIVE HILL – Mary Joyce Burchett Gabbard, 87, of Olive Hill, KY, departed this Earth December 12, 2009, to join her beloved husband and daughter in heaven.
Mary Joyce was born December 27, 1921, in Carter County, KY to the late Don and Ethel Garvin Burchett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawton Gabbard Sr.; daughter, Martha Sue Gabbard McGlone; grandsons, David McGlone and Scotty Brent Gabbard; and brother, Phillip Ford Burchett.
She graduated from Morehead Teachers College in 1941 and then was employed by the Carter County Board of Education as an elementary school teacher. Upon marriage to her husband Lawton, they established a long-time successful business, Gabbard Department Store in Olive Hill, which was in operation for 36 years. After retirement she devoted her life to her grandchildren.
Mary Joyce is survived by one daughter, Ethel Mae Gabbard Burchett, and a son, Lawton Gabbard Jr. She is also survived by two grandsons, Billy Michael McGlone and Lawton Gabbard III; three granddaughters, Mary Ann Gabbard Smith, Hope Gabbard Cole and Christy Burchett Rodgers; and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a very special son-in-law, Billy Hugh McGlone, and a very special grandson-in-law, Jeremy “Spanky” Rodgers.
There will be no visitation. Burial will be at Garvin Ridge Cemetery in Carter County following a private graveside service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital, 1900 Richmond Road, Lexington, KY 40502.

Mina Butler Littleton
1937-2009
MOREHEAD – Mina Butler Littleton, 72, of Whispering Oaks, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2009 at her home.
She was born on April 6, 1937 in Fleming County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late James and Iva Whisman Butler.
Mrs. Littleton was a retired pharmacy technician for St. Claire Regional Medical Center. She was a 1953 graduate of Fleming County High School, where she was the class valedictorian. Mrs. Littleton attended the Mt. Pisgah Christian Church and was a member of the Club of Hearts. She enjoyed reading, working in flowers, spending time with her family and her beloved dog, Peanut.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Orris Jay Littleton, who passed away on January 27, 2009, her daughter, Paula Littleton Puckett, who passed away on September 7, 2004, one brother, Audrey Butler and two sisters, Mildred Butler Shields and an infant sister.
Survivors include three sons, Archie Littleton of Morehead, Philip Littleton and his wife, Patricia of Morehead and Rickie Littleton and his wife, Elaine of Clearfield, two brothers, Clyde Butler of Tennessee and Earl Butler of Fleming County, one sister, Mary Opal Helphenstine of Hillsboro, five grandchildren, Josh Puckett, Jason Littleton, Gabe Littleton, Morgan Littleton and Carrie Littleton Apgar, three great-grandchildren, Dakota Apgar, Tanner Mason and Bennett Littleton and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 13, 2009 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Rev. James DeAtley and Jared DeAtley officiating. Burial was in the Sardis Cemetery at Cranston.
Pallbearers were Gabe Littleton, Jason Littleton, Josh Puckett, Sam Apgar, Wesley Helterbrand and Jimmy Helphenstine and honorary pallbearers were Dr. Ed Scott, Ernie Lewis, Bill Cooper, Glenn Stephens and Mike Menard.

Jerry Joseph Theriot
1940-2009
MOREHEAD – Jerry Joseph Theriot, age 69, passed away peacefully at his home in Wallingford, Kentucky, on Wednesday, December 9, 2009.
Jerry was born on September 20, 1940, in Marrero, Louisiana to the late Joseph “S.Hart” Theriot and Bernice Foret Theriot.
He grew up in the St. Charles Community and graduated from Raceland High School in 1958. Following graduation, he attended Moler Barber College and worked as a barber for several years. Jerry was drafted and proudly served in the United States Army. Upon discharge, he worked as a barber and later joined the Ironworkers Local Union #58 in New Orleans where he was a structural ironworker. Later he was employed as a contract worker on nuclear power plants which enabled him to reside in several states across the United States.
Survivors include his son, retired Air Force Master Sergeant Jerry “Joey” Theriot, Jr. and his wife, Emilie K. Theriot and one granddaughter, Sydney Theriot of Fairborn, Ohio, brother, Larry P. Theriot and his wife, Judy G. Theriot of Raceland, Louisiana, two nieces, Kimberly Theriot-Smith of Raceland, Louisiana and Alyson Theriot of Thibodaux, Louisiana and numerous other relatives and friends.
According to his wishes, his body will be cremated and in the spring, his ashes will be spread across the lake near his home in Kentucky.
Jerry will be remembered for his love of life.
Full military rites were conducted at Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home on Thursday, December 10, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. by the Morehead American Legion Post No. 126.
Relatives and friends held a memorial service on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in the St. Charles Community.
