Marcus McCleese
1970-2010


OLIVE HILL - Marcus Anthoney “Big Red” McCleese, age 39, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away, Thursday evening, January 28, 2010, in Paducah, Kentucky from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He was born July 27, 1970, in Rowan County, Kentucky, a son of Marcus McCleese of Olive Hill, Kentucky and Valerie Brown of Clearfield, Kentucky.

“Big Red” was an employee of Welder Pipeliner Local # 798. He was baptized at the Morehead First Church of God in Morehead, Kentucky, and attended Christ Way Church in Olive Hill, Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by one brother, John Joseph Carlton “Big John” McCleese.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife of seventeen years, Carla Lawson McCleese; one daughter, Autumn Nicole McCleese of Olive Hill, Kentucky; one brother and sister-in-law, Travis Neil and Patricia McCleese of Olive Hill, Kentucky; maternal grandmother, Esta McCleese of Olive Hill, Kentucky; two nephews, Brody Slade McCleese and Trevor Wayne Lawson. He also leaves several other extended family members and friends who will sadly mourn his passing.

Funeral service was held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 3, 2010, at the Olive Hill Historical Society Building in Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother Tim Wagoner officiating. Burial will follow in the Pitts Cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky.

James Roark, Dave Thomas, Jimmy Binion, James Hall, Brad Jenkins, Tony Bond, Jeremy Wilburn and Jerry Minor will serve as pallbearers.

Globe Funeral Chapel is in charge of all the arrangements.

Donald Lee Miller
1944-2010


MOREHEAD – Donald Lee Miller, age 65, of Kegley Ridge, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, February 14, 2010, at his residence.

Born March 3, 1944, in Louisville, Kentucky, he is the son of Ima Jean Yates Miller of Evansville, Indiana, and the late Ottis Miller. A son, Norman Miller, also preceded him in death.

In addition to his mother, Don is survived by his wife, Rita Murphy Miller; three sons, Brian Miller of El Paso, Texas, J. R. Mcnutt of Columbia, South Carolina; and Nacogdoches Miller of Morehead, Kentucky; one daughter, Tina Williams of Evansville, Indiana; one sister; Jeanie White of Evansville, Indiana; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Don was a farmer and horse trainer.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 16, 2010, after 4 p.m. at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. Private burial will take place at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or St. Joseph’s Indian School, Chamberlain, SD 57326.

Asa Muse
1927-2010


MOREHEAD - Asa Clarence Muse, age 82, Morehead, Ky., passed away Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010 at his residence. Mr. Muse was born in Fleming County, Ky. May10, 1927. His parents were John and Sarah Burchfield Muse. Survivors: wife Shirley Mae Knapp Muse, one daughter - Mary Ann Muse, West Liberty, Ky.; two sons - Herbert Owen Muse and Howard Muse, both of Morehead, Ky.; and one brother - Dennis Muse of Muses Mills, Ky. He is also survived by six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Eva Brown, Ollie Robinson, and Kathryn Kennedy; and three brothers, Ted Muse, Allen Muse, and Lincoln Muse.

He was a World War II veteran.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Boone-Nickell Funeral Home in Flemingsburg is assisting the family.
