Phyllis Jean Dyer Waddle
1939 – 2012
Phyllis Jean Dyer Waddle, 72, of Old River Road, Salt Lick, passed away Friday, June 15, 2012, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.
She was born November 17, 1939, in Bath County, a daughter of the late Lucian and Samantha Montgomery Dyer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers: Benford Dyer, Elmer Dyer, Willie Dyer and Burl “B. T.” Dyer.
Phyllis is survived by her husband of 57 years, Edgar Donald Waddle, whom she married April 4, 1955; two sons, Donald R. Waddle and David W. Waddle; one daughter, Donna Jean Waddle Ball and husband Daniel and two grandchildren, Samantha Jean Waddle and Jamie Daniel Ball, all of Salt Lick.
She was a former owner of Cave Run Lodging in Farmers, which was established in 1975 by the Waddle family. She enjoyed fishing and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren, which were truly her world.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Randall Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in New Alfrey Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Donald Waddle, David Waddle, Thomas Waddle, Jr., Roger Hollan, Daniel Ball, Rodney Dyer and Jeff Dyer.
Visitation was 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Monday, June 18, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
