Carol Jean Prewitt McClurg
1961 – 2012
Carol Jean Prewitt McClurg, 50, of Moores Flat Road, Morehead, passed away Monday, June 25, 2012, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.
She was born November 1, 1961, in Boyd County, a daughter of Charles F. Prewitt of Hillsboro and Mary Ethel Wagoner Prewitt, who passed away October 14, 1998.
In addition to her father, Carol is survived by her husband, Kenneth Ray McClurg, whom she married October 5, 1985; one son, Kenneth Ray McClurg, Jr. and one daughter, Kelly Marie McClurg, all of Morehead; one brother, Charles Gregory Prewitt and wife Sharon of Hillsboro and several nieces and nephews.
Carol was a Rowan County Middle School cafeteria worker and bus monitor. She loved her family and taking part in all their activities, whether it was school events, fishing or NASCAR racing. She attended Salt Lick Free Will Baptist Church. Carol will be missed by her family and many friends.
Funeral services were conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, June 28, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Herbie Lewis, Brother Tom Redmon and Brother Bill Wagoner officiating. Burial was in Brown Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Zach McClurg, Willie Skaggs, Jr., Orville McClurg, Kenneth Ray McClurg, Jr., Ryan Ayers, Shawn Kay, Wendell McCarty and Jimmy Skaggs.
Visitation was after 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
