1943 – 2012
Carolyn James Meade, 68, of James Hollow Road, Olive Hill, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2012, at her residence.
She was born May 29, 1943, in Carter County and was the daughter of the late Henry and Frances Margaret Roe James. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louie Emmitt “Gene” Meade, who died on March 30, 2009; one son, Anthony Meade and one brother, Thomas Arthur James.
Mrs. Meade is survived by two sons, Henry Arthur Meade and James Audes Meade, both of Owingsville; one daughter, Audrey Brown of Salt Lick; one brother, Clifford James of Olive Hill; three sisters, Evelyn Riffe and Eythel Boggs, both of Elyria, Ohio and Agnes McMillin of Olive Hill; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Mrs. Meade was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and caring for her flowers.
Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, February 19, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Reverend John Bradley and the Reverend Johnny Jordan officiating. Burial was in the Polksville Cemetery in Bath County.
Pallbearers were Henry Meade, Eric Meade, Derek McGlothin, Anthony Meade, David Meade and Keith Gose.
Visitation was after 6 p.m. Saturday, February 18 at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
