07/31/2012 — Barbara Ann Black Lucie, 75, of Ashland, died Sunday July 29, 2012 at Wurtland Manor Nursing Home. Born December 14, 1936 in Morehead, the daughter of the late Emory Lowell Black and Lillian Crystal Brown Black Scaggs, Mrs. Lucie was raised by the late Dr. and Mrs. H.D. Benteen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, George Rexford Lucie; two brothers, Lowell David Black and Danny Scaggs; a sister, Rita Scaggs Jordan and a cousin, Cindy Benteen. She was a retired nurse, a member of Centenary United Methodist Church and a homemaker. She is survived by two sons, Christopher David Lucie (Mary) of Chicago, Illinois and Eric Robert Lucie (Laurie) of Santee, California; one daughter, Rebecca Elizabeth Lucie Isaacs (David W.) of Flatwoods; one brother, Billy R. Scaggs (Janet) of Salt Lick; six grandchildren, Danielle Rene Lucie, Jaclyn Ann Lucie, Nicole Marie Lucie, Michelle Rose Lucie, Elizabeth Ann Lucie Gross and Michael Rexford McClements; three great grandchildren, Mary Gross, Luther Gross and Alice Gross and two special cousins, Jessica Baldridge and Tanner Baldridge. Funeral services were conducted 11:00 AM Thursday August21, at Miller Funeral Home with Dr. Thomas Melvin officiating. Graveside services and burial followed at 1:00 PM in the Lewis Family Cemetery in Morgan Co. The family received friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday and from 9:00 AM until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
