Christopher "Chris" Williams, Sr.

1963-2012

08/06/2012 — Christopher “Chris” Williams, Sr., 48, of Bull Fork Road, Morehead, passed away Friday, August 3, 2012, at the St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.

Born August 7, 1963, in Rowan County, he is the son of Wilma Jean Cassity of Morehead and the late David Lewis Williams, Sr.

Chris is also survived by four sons, Charles Michael Williams of Morehead, Chris Williams, Jr. and wife April of Morehead, Chase Mitchell Williams and wife Danielle of Clearfield and Brennan Lee David Williams of Salt Lick and seven grandchildren, Brianna Hart, Raeleigh Williams, Savannah Williams, Emaleigh Williams, Alexis Williams, Jayla Kiser and Ashtyn Williams.

Also surviving are four brothers, Douglas Williams, Kenneth Williams and Jerry Williams, all of Morehead and David Lewis Williams, Jr. of East Hartford, Connecticut; one sister, Branita Lewis of Hillsboro; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other family and many friends.

Chris was an employee of the Rowan County Jail and former manager of the Morehead Arby’s restaurant.   Chris was involved with many community sport activities, refereeing and umpiring various age groups of boys and girls and hosting the Arby’s Classic baseball tournament.  He was a former member of the Farmers Volunteer Fire Department and enjoyed family gatherings and being in the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.

Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, August 5, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Reverend Mark Caldwell officiating.  Burial was in the Cassity Cemetery.

Pallbearers:  Stephen Rasche, Charles Graham, Walter Pittman, Nathan Williams, Sean Norris and Chris Wells. 

Visitation was after 6 p.m. Saturday, August 4, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
