David Raymond Barker
1941 – 2012
David Raymond Barker, 70, of Fyrl Street, Clearfield, passed away Friday, June 29, 2012, at his residence.
Born July 28, 1941, in Carter County, he was the son of the late James and Hattie Messer Barker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Huey and Alvie Barker.
David is survived by his wife of 38 years, Carolyn Sparks Barker; four sons, Paul Barker and wife Amanda of Olive Hill, Randy Barker, Brian Barker, and Timothy Barker, all of Clearfield; one daughter, Kimberly Hamilton and husband Elwood of Clearfield; eight grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
David retired after 40 years as a HVAC Technician for Service of Morehead and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, collecting Case knives and running his Beagles.
Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, July 1, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Herbert D. Lewis officiating. Burial was in Brown Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ronnie Sparks, Timmy Sparks, Kevin Callahan, Chris Branham, Steve Perkins, David Perkins, Zachary Hamilton and Travis Hamilton.
Visitation was after 5 p.m. Saturday, June 30, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
