08/13/2012 — Leshia Mae Brickey Burton, 50, of S. Brickey Road, Sandy Hook, passed away Saturday, August 11, 2012, at her sister’s home in Morehead.
Born February 24, 1962, in Morgan County, she is the daughter of Jaunita Carroll of Sandy Hook and the late Sammie Brickey.
In addition to her mother, Leshia is survived by her husband, David Burton; three children, Erik Hammonds and Chandra Hammonds of West Liberty and Hannah Rose Mayse of Sandy Hook; two grandchildren, Ethan Hammonds and Weston Hammonds and three Godchildren, Angila Landsaw, Cortney Jenkins and Cody Jenkins.
Other survivors include her brothers and sisters, Bonnie (Jamie) Sontoyo of Sandy Hook, Teresa Brickey of Morehead, Karen Brickey of Ft. Myers, Florida, Elizabeth (Dale) Holbrook of Sandy Hook, Rockie (Thelma) Brickey of Sandy Hook, Glorita Brickey of Sandy Hook, Lori (Chris) Hampton of Morgantown, West Virginia, Sammiela (Michael) Dickerson of Sandy Hook, Robin Brickey of Louisville, Jolena (Brian) Kiser of Olive Hill, Adam (Carolyn) Sparks of Sandy Hook and Preston (Kristen) Carroll of Sandy Hook; sister-in-law, Loretta Brickey of Lake Orion, Michigan, wife of the late Gregory Dale Brickey; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Leshia was a member of the Middle Fork Church of God in Elliott County. She loved life and all it entailed. A diversified person with many talents, Leshia was a humanitarian, published poet, artist, photographer and accomplished decorator. She also greatly enjoyed the outdoors and nature’s beauty. Leshia loved her family dearly and their love for her was boundless. Leshia’s memory will always shine for those who knew her.
At Leshia’s request, there will be no services.
