The Rowan County football team held a press conference this morning to announce that Coach ShaDon Brown has resigned. Coach Kyle Singleton has been named interim head coach.

LEXINGTON – Rowan County’s Vikings went into the PNC/KHSAA Sweet 16 winless in their previous four trips to the state basketball tournament. The Vikings, now 28-5, made history here Thursday afternoon, putting down the Panthers of Daviess County, 45-32.

Laux wins state press awards
The Morehead News was a winner at the Kentucky Press Association Excellence in Kentucky Newspapers Contest and recognized at the Jan. 26 Winter Convention.
- KHSAA to expand football into six classes The Kentucky High School Athletic Association recently announced that it would increase the number of classes in football from four to six. It is a decision that will place Rowan County Senior High School into Class 4A and join Boyd County, Greenup County and Lawrence County in District 4-8. If passed by the Board of Control at its’ August 21 meeting, the new system will go into effect in the fall of 2007.
