Teen accused of killing father

Aug. 3, 2011 —     A former Morgan County resident has been arrested for allegedly murdering her father and setting his house on fire last year, according to police.

    Kentucky State Police said Shelby Conley, 19, was arrested by the Pineville Police Department Aug. 2 when she appeared in Bell County District Court on an unrelated charge of assault.

    Det. Donnie McGraw was investigating Conley for the murder of Donald Conley, 46, and the arson of his home at 204 Devils Fork Road, Wrigley.

    Shelby Conley was indicted July 28 by a Morgan County grand jury.

    She is accused of shooting her father and with the assistance of Chris Lovely set fire to her father’s home on March 27, 2010.

    Lovely was apprehended last month in Orange County, Ind., on arson charges relating to this incident.

    Shelby Conley is lodged in the Bell County Jail.
